I have had the same problem<BR>

I think its something to do with the way windows compresses the data before the printer gets it.<BR>
Cups doesnt do this.<BR>
The only way I have got round this although still slower than XP is using postscript direct to the printer<BR>
( If you printer can do this)<BR>
