I set USE_UDEV="no" in "/etc/udev/udev.conf" and then used
"/sbin/MAKEDEV" to recreate all the device nodes in "/dev". MAKEDEV
needs an extra argument, which is the name of a file inside
"/etc/makedev.d". For example:
/sbin/MAKEDEV console
/sbin/MAKEDEV sound
/sbin/MAKEDEV ide
/sbin/MAKEDEV generic
/sbin/MAKEDEV usb
