[Fedora-ia64-list] Boot Problem with FC5 on Itanium HP rx2600

 Hello Emeric and Doug,

I updated my rx2600 to Firmware Version 2.31A and this
fixed the problem. I can now boot from the first FC5 disk.
I had a very old FW version on my system and I needed
to step to E0226 and E0229 before I could install FW 2.31

Thanks for the hint.

Martin

Emeric,

Very good point. For those that need to upgrade you can find the latest firmware for the rx2600/zx6000/zx2000 (all use the same) on the HP web site at:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=447335&prodNameId=88839&swEnvOID=54&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ux-29665-1

This is an iso image that you can boot.

One warning however, especially for the MP firmware. If your MP firmware is way out of date you cannot go directly to the latest fw version. The older versions of the MP firmware can ONLY be updated via ftp and not via CD.

however for the "sys" and "bmc" firmware you should be OK using the iso image above.
