or autofs. If it IS ACPI, maybe this is the reason for my slowdown also. I <BR>
need to check and find out what what to do, but I can't do anything since I <BR>
can't get back into X. Any ideas on what I can do to get my X server back <BR>
up? This is the real problem for me right now...<BR>

Have you tried turning off ACPI at boot up? Type 'a' at the grub boot screen and enter acpi=off to the kernel command line.<BR>
