<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">I've tried to reinstall GRUB but couldnt' do so. I booted from FC1 CD in rescue mode, but it could not find any linux partitions on my machine and just gives me a shell prompt. This is why i couldn't execute next two commands; </font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">chroot /mnt/sysimage -- /mnt/sysimage does not exist.</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">grub-install -- command does not exist.</font>

<br><font size=2><tt>No, the overlapping Linux partitions are just occupants of an<br>
extended partition. Extended partitions let us get past the<br>
4-partition limit endemic to living in a DOS-legacy world.<br>

<br><font size=2><tt>Looks like to me that you've just lost the GRUB/lilo bootloader.<br>
That's easy to get round.<br>

<br><font size=2><tt>Boot back into rescue mode. Run "fsck /dev/hda[56]" to make sure<br>
that the Linux partitions are undamaged. Then reinstall GRUB:<br>

<br><font size=2><tt>You should be able to boot Linux. If your GRUB doesn't already point<br>
to the Winders partitions, just add a clause like the following to<br>
