I'm not trying to start a fight. I understand that there will be
a version 2 of qmail coming out. It will include many of the
patches that have been put out over the years. The fact that the
basic source code works, and is secure since it was released in 1988
speaks well for qmail. "...is not open source..." no, you can't
distribute changed source code, but you can distribute patches to the
source code which, (IMO, and I know that others disagree) amounts to
the same thing. Qmail is being actively supported. There
are patches available which "fix" and enhance qmail. If you
want a near no-brainer installation guide, check out <a href="http://www.qmailrocks.com">www.qmailrocks.com</a>
(many patches are included).<br>

Now, for what no one is saying...e-mail servers are complex. You
need to understand your overall needs before deploying an e-mail
server. There are so many permutations that I can't begin to
enumerate them here. <br>
