Do you have have qt installed. I believe the latest version is 3.3.4. I think there are also various versions of skype you may want to try. The static has qt built in. I can't run any previous version on my HP lappy, which had an AMD Turion 64 bit cpu in it, but 1.3beta works quite nicely.
