The one that has worked best for me is 2.6.23.12-101.fc8 which I pulled from koji here: <a href="http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=30116">http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=30116 </a> If you want to try that, download the relevant rpm, and install it using the command yum --nogpgcheck localinstall kernel-2.6.23.12-101.fc8.x86_64.rpm replacing x86_64 with i686 if your laptop is not 64 bit.
