<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" ><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;">after logging in I get a momentary message box at the top of the screen:<br>____________________<br>phonon <br><br>audio playback device does not work<br>____________________<br><br>I got this message late in Fedora 8 and now in F9<br><br>some CD players work well,  some don't work well, some don't work at all<br><br>I have sound built into the motherboard!<br><br>As of F9 the "sound" on Fedora has deteriorated..esp with F9<br></td></tr></table><br>
