I have done all of this before . I dont understand what
xine/mplayer/firefox are referencing audio wise that prevent them from
working at all when amarok works perfectly <br>

I found that wasn't enough for me. To really eradicate it
I like "yum erase pulseaudio" which takes not only that plugin,
but other things as well.
