Are you using the normal Gnome install? I think it would be better to file this as a bug and provide information about the window manager you're using. Regarding the errors that include gdk_*, I'm getting them too since I installed Fedora 11. I don't know why, but they occur whenever I start a graphical application from the command line. However they never had any influence on the way the programs worked.
