I'm trying to follow the above instructions on the IBM website, to which I found a link at the Fedora Live CD wiki. Under the heading "Setting up the base", the author says, "You also need to have access to RPMs of the tools that you want on your custom Live CD. If you are on a fast Internet connection, livecd-creator can download them and the packages they depend upon...." I'm on a fast Internet connection, so I wanted to try downloading rather than creating a local core directory. The author gave no instructions about how to set up such a download, but, guessing from other material in the instructions, I tried the following: # livecd-creator --repo=c6,http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/i386 --package=bash --package=kernel --package=grub --fslabel=Fedora-minimal-LiveCD That gave me the following output: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/i386/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno -1] Error importing repomd.xml for lcdr_c6: Damaged \ repomd.xml file Trying other mirror. Error: Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: lcdr_c6 Error installing packages Error during installation... I don't know enough to understand what's gone wrong. If anyone can tell me how to correct the error, I'd be grateful. If I can't proceed by the download method, I'd be willing to create a local core repository, but am not quite sure about the author's instruction: # cp <PATH TO RPMs> /var/www/html/repo/core/ I've created the required directory, but am not sure how to perform the copy command instructed. As of the last few days, I've begun using FC6, solely because I couldn't create live cds using FC3. I haven't yet figured out how to search all the files and folders on my system like I used to in FC3, so aren't sure whether I've got the right path. With my FC6 dvd in hdc, I do have a path to RPMS as follows: /dev/hdc/Fedora/RPMS Is that the path needed or is it some other RPMS folder somewhere else on the dvd? Thanks for reading, Leslie
