Message-ID: <7dd7ab490608021743p75f2ed15r349306e3b1d3d3b4@mail.gmail.com> Hey all -- I was working on my "Chris is lazy and would rather have a script tell him that he needs to update his extras perl packages than read the daily cpan update email" script, and thought this interim list might be useful to others. It's a list of packages in extras development matching /^perl-/, compared to the latest released distributions in CPAN. Extras package version is determined by looking at the version of the spec file in the cvs devel branch of the package; owners information is determined by looking at owners.list. It's not perfect -- clearly -- but this is posted in the hopes others may find the information useful. For my own packages, I suspect I'll end up rigging an xmlrpc connection to bugzilla and having the script file bugs against the package needing an update. andreas at bawue.net * Crypt-CBC -- extras: 2.17 / cpan: 2.18 chris at chrisgrau.com * Time-Piece -- extras: 1.08 / cpan: 1.09 cweyl at alumni.drew.edu * Object-InsideOut -- extras: 1.45 / cpan: 1.47 dgregor at redhat.com * Config-Record -- extras: 1.1.0 / cpan: 1.1.1 garrick at usc.edu * Curses -- extras: 1.13 / cpan: 1.14 gauret at free.fr * Jcode -- extras: 2.03 / cpan: 2.06 * Unicode-MapUTF8 -- extras: 1.09 / cpan: 1.11 ghenry at suretecsystems.com * Apache-LogRegex -- extras: 1.2 / cpan: 1.3 * Imager -- extras: 0.50 / cpan: 0.53 ianburrell at gmail.com * Data-Hierarchy -- extras: 0.22 / cpan: 0.30 imlinux at gmail.com * File-RsyncP -- extras: 0.62 / cpan: 0.64 jpo at di.uminho.pt * Devel-Cover -- extras: 0.55 / cpan: 0.56 * Error -- extras: 0.17 / cpan: 0.17001 * GSSAPI -- extras: 0.22 / cpan: 0.23 * IO-Socket-SSL -- extras: 0.97 / cpan: 0.997 * Module-CoreList -- extras: 2.05 / cpan: 2.06 mpeters at mac.com * File-BOM -- extras: 0.11 / cpan: 0.12 notting at redhat.com * Finance-Quote -- extras: 1.11 / cpan: 1.12 * HTML-TableExtract -- extras: 2.07 / cpan: 2.10 oliver at linux-kernel.at * Unix-Statgrab -- extras: 0.03 / cpan: 0.04 paul at city-fan.org * String-CRC32 -- extras: 1.3 / cpan: 1.4 rc040203 at freenet.de * Locale-Maketext-Lexicon -- extras: 0.60 / cpan: 0.62 * prefork -- extras: 1.00 / cpan: 1.01 steve at silug.org * Algorithm-Diff -- extras: 1.1901 / cpan: 1.1902 * Archive-Extract -- extras: 0.08 / cpan: 0.11 * File-Fetch -- extras: 0.07 / cpan: 0.08 * Module-Build -- extras: 0.2804 / cpan: 0.2805 * Module-Load-Conditional -- extras: 0.08 / cpan: 0.10 * Unix-Syslog -- extras: 0.100 / cpan: 0.99 tcallawa at redhat.com * Apache-Session-Wrapper -- extras: 0.29 / cpan: 0.31 * Class-Accessor -- extras: 0.25 / cpan: 0.27 * Class-DBI -- extras: 3.0.14 / cpan: v3.0.14 * Image-ExifTool -- extras: 6.26 / cpan: 6.29 * Maypole -- extras: 2.10 / cpan: 2.11_pre5 * Spreadsheet-WriteExcel -- extras: 2.17 / cpan: WebPivot2 * version -- extras: 0.64 / cpan: 0.662 ville.skytta at iki.fi * Module-Signature -- extras: 0.54 / cpan: 0.55 * Net-IP -- extras: 1.24 / cpan: 1.25 zing at fastmail.fm * XML-LibXSLT -- extras: 1.58 / cpan: 1.59 -- Chris Weyl Ex astris, scientia From rnorwood at redhat.com Fri Aug 4 18:03:00 2006 From: rnorwood at redhat.com (Robin Norwood) Date: Fri, 04 Aug 2006 14:03:00 -0400 Subject: New perl and perl-* package maintainer Message-ID: Hi, I've volunteered to be the maintainer of perl and various perl-* packages within Red Hat, taking over from Jason. FWIW, the three that sa-update needs in addition to the normal set are: Archive::Tar, IO::Zlib, and LWP. Summary: Missing perl-Archive-Tar Dependancy in RPM https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=202402 ------- Additional Comments From wtogami at redhat.com 2006-08-14 10:57 EST ------- Requires: perl(Archive::Tar) This has been in our FC6 spec for a while now. I suppose we can push this back into FC5 if we do a spamassassin-3.1.x update there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. I believe the patch itself is bugged; the brute force search seems to be triggering in cases where it doesn't seem to be necessary. I have a project internal to my employer that makes heavy use of the DateTime module, which was significantly affected by this patch. DateTime does overload but not reblessing, but the search is still triggered (for no apparent reason) whenever the ->clone method is called, even though there's no reason for it (a completely new reference is created by ->clone, it does *not* rebless anything). DBIx::Class is also bitten by this; see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=123372&postcount=20 Personally I think this patch needs more testing from upstream before it goes into a stable line update to Fedora. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
