Frields Date: Mon, May 4, 2009 at 5:47 PM Subject: Slogan translation To: Fedora Translation Project Hello intrepid translators! Since I got one question about translating the F11 slogan ("Reign"), I thought I should give some background information here that might help in your work. The slogan is in the form of a call to action or a verbal command, like previous slogans. The word "reign" means to rule, prevail, or predominate. ?In one sense it's drawn from the way a king rules. ?Leonidas was a king, but also his name comes from "lion," and lions are kings of the jungle. ?This is also meant to show that Fedora and FLOSS help you rule over your computer, instead of the other way around. I hope this helps, and I think you can find the translation material here: https://translate.fedoraproject.org/tx/projects/fedora-web/master-fedoraproject/ Thanks to everyone, again, for what's turning out to be an incredibly successful Fedora 11 release! -- Paul W. Neka tre?a >>> ideja? >>> >> >> ??? ????? ????? ??????? ?????? ?? ??????. ? ???? ??? ? ??????/???? ;) Pozdrav, M http://www.vokabular.org/?lang=sr-lat&search=regent From ricky at fedoraproject.org Sat May 9 23:04:54 2009 From: ricky at fedoraproject.org (Ricky Zhou) Date: Sat, 9 May 2009 19:04:54 -0400 Subject: Fedora 11 Website Translations Message-ID: <20090509230454.GB1831@alpha.rzhou.org> Hi, sorry for being a bit late with this, but the Fedora 11 website is now frozen for translations. As usual, most of the changes will be "Fedora 10" -> "Fedora 11" changes (sorry I couldn't find a way to cleanly automatically update these - in the future, we'll be making the version number a variable that will only need to be translated in one place). Note that if your translation is complete and it is not currently enabled (it is not listed in http://git.fedoraproject.org/git/fedora-web.git?p=fedora-web.git;a=blob;f=fedoraproject.org/po/LINGUAS ), please email fedora-websites-list at redhat.com so that we can make sure to add it to the necessary configs. You can submit translations and see the current status at: https://translate.fedoraproject.org/tx/projects/fedora-web/master-fedoraproject/ Thanks a lot, Ricky (Sorry if you're seeing this email several times, it was suggested that we CC all of the translation lists when sending these out) -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... There are a number of bug reports handled, and some fairly major flaws in a couple of sections corrected. We would like to issue an update to the Fedora 10 Release Notes before we get too heavily wrapped up in the Fedora 11 release cycle, which is just beginning to ramp up. --McD _______________________________________________ Fedora-trans-announce mailing list Fedora-trans-announce at redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-trans-announce
