The runtime for the "while read" loop goes from under one second when not appending $gname to $gnames and $gid to $gids to over a minute when appending, for 1800+ group IDs. This is on a 2GHz Opteron. It's much worse on typical terminal hardware. LOCAL_APPS=True by default, at least in Fedora, so this means LDAP auth is FAIL out of the box. Can someone clue me in on the location of the upstream bug tracker, so I can report this properly? Does it hang at the point when it's trying to download the kernel 'n stuff over tftp? "Loading ip.ip.ip.ip:/ltsp/i386/elf.ltsp ......"? I've been trying to figure that out as well the last couple of days...just trying to connect to my box across the network (from "real" machines), I get "no route to host" when trying to connect to ldminfod or tftp. yet ssh and ping work fine. I thought that these problems were just me screwing something up (every time I try to set up a ltsp dev environment *something* goes wrong, almost always my fault..), but I guess not this time. /me is gonna go test with a real thin client now.. > -- > Dan Young > Multnomah ESD - Technology Services > 503-257-1562 > > _______________________________________________ > K12Linux-devel-list mailing list > K12Linux-devel-list at redhat.com > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/k12linux-devel-list -- _________________________ Ryan Niebur ryanryan52 at gmail.com -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... The kernel seems to download OK. I just see the plymouth crawl for a split-second then nothing. I see the same thing on real hardware. I did find that i get the following when running ltsp-build-client: Installing: kernel ##################### [312/410] /etc/sysconfig/mkinitrd: line 13: syntax error near unexpected token `else' /etc/sysconfig/mkinitrd: line 13: `else' WARNING: /dev/root is a not a block device, skipping after editing /etc/ltsp/mkinitrd/sysconfig-mkinitrd (adding then on the end of line 13) this message disappears, but i still can't boot further then the brief plymouth display. I filed a bug for the missing "else" here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ltsp/+bug/361969 -- Dan Young Multnomah ESD - Technology Services 503-257-1562 From wtogami at redhat.com Thu Apr 30 22:46:15 2009 From: wtogami at redhat.com (Warren Togami) Date: Thu, 30 Apr 2009 18:46:15 -0400 Subject: K12Linux Live Server F11 Beta1 Message-ID: <49FA2A37.8050702@redhat.com> http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/ltsp/k12linux/f11/beta1/ x86_64 only for now. The next beta or final release will have i386 ISO's as well. The final release will be sometime after Fedora 11 is released. This is based on Fedora 11 rawhide as of today. The drivers are newer than Fedora 10. I suspect random things will work better, while other random things wont. The harmless but annoying selinux error messages were reported in Bugzilla.
