What I can say for sure is it is incredibly easy to lock yourslf out.. With
winbind today I found myself with unusable root sccount because there was a
generic root account on 2000 server. the order in pam was such that i authed to
2000 server as root witha generic account with no power instead of authing to
/etc/passwd as root, master of the universe. disabling win200 account rectified
problem but twas not a pretty sight this morning. i did a rh 8 install a
month ago and enabled ldap in the process to a non existent ldap server and
again could not log in. A sinking feeling you can imagine. With pam_mount i did
a search at marc.theaimsgroup and found I think what there was to find out.
Pretty sure it would help you. Look forward to seeing you maybe the tenth. Chuck
