Hi,
Actually, you can switch the resolution. In my lts.conf I have X_MODE_0 =
800x600 and my stations come up fine. I have found that since you can't
Ctrl+Alt+GrayPlus through the resolutions, that it's only beneficial to
have one X_MODE line in lts.conf. I have also noticed that you need to
make the change when no terminals are online with the server, or they
don't take effect (weird, happened in K12LTSP 2.1 on RH7.3 and K12LTSP 3.0
on RH8). Right now, my 'test' server running K12LTSP 3(.0) on RH8 is
running a NIC 2.0 (ThinkNIC 266/66) at 800x600.
I can post the file for reference if necessary, or you can e-mail me directly

Using the Xvesa driver you can only operate at that default resolution....can't be changed that I know of. You have to switch to XF86_SVGA from Xvesa if you want 800x600.
