If you MUST BE RUNNING THE ABSOLUTE LATEST SOFTWARE, I can verify that
upgrading K12LTSP 3.0.x with Red Hat 9 appears to work well.
If you use the official Red Hat 9 discs, you do have to do one step
manually. After the upgrade, run:
/opt/ltsp/templates/k12linux/K12Linux-LTSP-initialize
and reboot the server.
After that, you should be ready to rock-and-roll (or break out the
backup tapes and start the restore ;-)
I have K12LTSP 3.1.0 preleases ready to go, but I won't release them
until after the 7th. It may be even longer than that because my donated
traffic shaper died - the traffic shaper keeps my network functional
during the huge bandwith spikes I see after a new release.
We're about to increase our bandwidth beyond the capability of the
traffic shaper, so no big loss to us, but it may take us a week or two
to set aside the time to get the Linux traffic control code working
as well as the old traffic shaper did...
And for those of you NOT ON THE BLEEDING EDGE, don't worry. K12LTSP 3.1.0
will just be K12LTSP 3.0.2 with the "K12LTSP" parts recompiled for RH9.
