The client is plugged into the hub and the hub is connected to eth0.
Also, I can see M$ boxes from the LAN trying to authenticate with the
K12LTSP DHCP server, but not the clients.

Be sure you have the client plugged into a hub connected to eth0 or
you'll need to use a crossover cable to connect directly to eth0.
