Hi Petre,
This is the only solution, providing you can disable the NIC in BIOS.
>From memory the Presario is a "home" model. I'm not all that familiar
with the BIOS on them.
The Compaq business models were different.
You may need to download the Diagnostics / Setup disk set for this model
(if they actually exist). They may have a name like "F10 SETUP /
DIAGNOSTICS".
