Re: [K12OSN] Server setup

Hi,

I don't know how everyone else feels, but with space like that, I'd put
/home on a drive by itself, /usr/bin and /var on a drive by itself, /boot
and / on a drive by itself. You'd still have 3 drives, so perhaps finding
out if RAID is available, or aquiring a RAID controller would be good.
Unfortunately, I don't know how you would do what I suggest in a RAID
configuration

        Subject: [K12OSN] Server setup

Good Morning,

I have a new server that I am in the process of setting up. Here are
the specifications:

Supermicro SuperServer 6022P-6
Ultra 160 SCSI
6 17 GB Hot swappable Seagate ST318406LC hard drives
4 GB RAM
Dual 1.8 GHz Pentium processors.
No raid controller the best I can tell.
Two Intel onboard NICS (eepro100's)

I am in the process of installing RedHat 8.0 (it is what I have and I am
comfortable with) on the box and need some help regarding partition
size/setup to use this box for terminals and software from RedHat 8.0
that needs to be installed. Any guidance is welcome.
