[K12OSN] Names (was K12LTSP future, etc, etc)




I thought about this some more....it's late, and I have a VB6 data access assignment due that aint working...

K12 Standard Server 2003

Standard set of productivity applications (i.e., OpenOffice, etc, etc)
Webmin
Terminal Services

K12 Advanced Server 2003

K12 Standard Server features, plus
Ready to run SquidGuard
User process purging
Eric's scripts
Full remote sound support

K12 Enterprise Server 2003
-----------------------------------------
K12 Advanced Server 2003 features, plus
Customized with preconfigured LDAP support
Ready to run SquidGuard
Student Information Database application (using MySQL) w/ web front end
Apache 2.0 w/ PHP
Full Java Support (perhaps if it is in the distro, people won't have a hard time configuring it)
SSL (for the above mentioned student information database)
Load balancing and failover capabilities (if existing server is on the same network)
Blade server support???

Other options
---------------------
Open source version of .NET (whenever it is available)
Build environment to create 'your own' K12 Server distro...some sort of development kit
Hard copy of the documentation

Maybe I took this too literally.
