I think the email clients you mention are all capable of accessing multiple 
local accounts, the just need to have a new account added, like when you 
have multiple POP accounts to access. I am honestly not sure though. In the 
past, when I have been in this situation, I always just switch VT's, login 
as the other user, and use the email as normal, in my case using pine or mutt.
