[K12OSN] Help needed in LA School Library [Fwd: linux help]

Hello Folks,

I just talked to this school librarian in LA.
(Steve Belton sbelton <sbelton lausd k12 ca us>)

He had a consultant come in and install what sounds like a K12LTSP lab.
The consultant left and now the lab is dead.

I'm thinking there are some Linux folks in LA that can actually
volunteer to go to the school and do some hand holding and help this
school get their machines working again.

Back in 1996 Eric Harrison responded to a similar plea from me and we've
been going full speed ever since. Helping schools is a good thing to do!

So who's in LA and has the time to stop by this school library and give
the guy some help? I'm sure you'll bump into a lack of funds and red
tape but who knows, it may be the beginnings of a beautiful
relationship!

;-) Paul

hi!

we spoke this morning and you mentioned the possibility of getting a volunteer
to help us get our linex setup running..... we have about 20 thin clients
wired to a server, but no screens light up.

we're an inner-city high school with few resources.

thanx!
