sme 5.6  is the only one that I have tried it one,  I made a 
schoolmation ibay, untarred it and move everything from the schoolmation 
directory to the schoolmation/html ibay directory.    then  created the 
mysql database and a new mysql user and changed the 4 or 5 connect* 
files  that have database connection information in them. 

It isn't in use yet at the site,  it is at  
http://www.smcsnewton.org/schoolmation/
version 1.* has a problem working in netscape or mozilla,  so you 
probably have to use ie to make it work

the problem is that the menu options for the different section go away 
on mouseover so you can't click them
in ie they change to a lighter color and you can click them.
