Re: [K12OSN] Urgent - Help Needed

It is a small school board. Maybe a little history 1st.

My 1st trial was to bring down my sever from home running K12LTSP and replace
teh lab server and give it a shot. It work great. Within 30 min, I had 12
units running off my P3-500, 384Mb system. Video problems slowed me down. I
would have booted more but different network cards were used and we didn't
have timer for those. The teacher in charge of the lab was immediately onto
how to teach the kids new things. He was impressed wiht Linux but I was more
impressed in his quick transiton on to teach with this system. He also
really liked the idea of a maintaining a single server vice 50+ individual
computers.

We decided to build a small lab to start further testing. I installed K12LTSP
on a P3-900, 385Mb. It worked well once we got everything figured out. The
demo went good enough that the Principle wants to get the word out to the
paretns that we are testing/evaluating this. We will be evaluating this hard
over the next couple of weeks.

I'd like to see a Christmas break conversion but that may be hoping for too
much.

Very exciting!!!
