Of course I do not know your situation, but I would use a separate box 
from my K12LTSP server for web filtering.

We use IPCop then add the Dans Guardian add on.  It is very easy to 
install.  Easy to manage.  And can run on pretty inexpensive equipment.  
We are holding a session in our area for schools to come and build an 
IPCop firewall complete with Dans Guardian filter for $160.  
(Refurbished IBM servers that our LTC purchased online.)
