<pre wrap="">Hi Eric,
As much as I would like to contribute more info the problem is that
up2date, yum & apt all just hang after being launched. I've checked with
both a "ps -aux rhn.... apt & yum" & by top & the tasks are running.
There have been no changes since I last ran then on my system & up2date
"informs" me that there are 10 updates available.
Any suggestions ?

If apt, up2date, & yum are all hanging, the only thing that comes to
my mind is that your RPM database is locked up. Try this:
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db.00*
Hopefully it is that easy.
