All,

This year I have been allowed to move the entire school (students and teachers) to a thin client environment based on results from last year. (except for a few critical front office systems to ensure compatibility with the state). But printing is once again an issue. I have printers connected to all the teachers' thin clients which all run from server1 (all servers have dual NIC setup). However, I need to be able to print to these from student systems which are running from server 2. I use CUPS for printing. I tried to get CUPS on server1 and server2 to see each other, but it hasn't worked (there is a website that I can't re-locate that discusses exactly this piece). Has anyone gotten the above to work? I also have to print from Windows systems as well and have Samba running for this purpose.

This is a ..big.. beta test by the school Director. Teachers are already concerned that their MS-experience is going to go away and things aren't going to work. (e.g. sound and videos on the clients as compared to using MS).

Sincerely,
