I have been trying to install K12LTSP on a new Dell 1850 server. When installing ver 4.2.1, on first login with either Gnome or KDE, or any other GUI other than the failsafe terminal, the X server totally freezes. There is no problem with ver 4.2.0 as it installs just fine. - that is until one does a yum update to bring in all the newest packages. Then we have the same freezing. see <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.fourmilab.ch/fourmilog/archives/2005-04/000506.html">http://www.fourmilab.ch/fourmilog/archives/2005-04/000506.html</a> Installing Redhat Enterprise works fine - taolinux, centos, etc I installed taolinux4 and then proceeded to individually download all the RPMS in the <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="ftp://k12linux.mesd.k12.or.us/pub/K12LTSP/testing/EL/RPMS/">ftp://k12linux.mesd.k12.or.us/pub/K12LTSP/testing/EL/RPMS/</a> directory, installed them all with rpm --nodeps --force, but then some things did not seem to work properly. The instructions in the readme that you have posted explaining how to do exactly that with yum --install ltsp-core did not work. Thus my question is - What is the state of the 4.2.1EL version that you have posted under "testing" I am in the process of downloading that and hopefully that will work for us. Trying in my feeble understanding of linux to integrate the EL and LTSP, I sure value the work you do to integrate all the K12 stuff with LTSP and the various versions of FC. again many thanks for the great work.
