<pre wrap="">If all else fails, try replacing your switch. I went
through weeks of troubleshooting config files only to
find out that my switch wasn't "agreeing" with my
server. The best test setup would be to use a
crossover cable between the server and the thin
client.

<pre wrap="">Folks
After prevailing an argument that an Open
Source/K12LTSP server/thin
client presentation has educational value for
teachers, I am 4 short and
busy days away from the presentation in a
neighboring district, and
still getting (server) thin client errors on eth0.
Via "neat" I've set
eth0 as 192.168.0.254/255.255.255.0/192.168.0.0 (or
blank) and done the
usual yum update, ntsysv, /sbin.ifconfig/cat
/etc/hosts, showmount -e,
service nfs restart, df -h and I still keep getting
a huge pause with
"mounting root filesystem /opt/ltsp/i386 from
192.168.0.254" followed by
"mount: nfsmount failed: bad file descriptor" and
"nfs: mount program
didn't pass remote address" and finally "mount:
mounting
192.168.0.224:/opt/ltsp/i386 on /mnt failed: invalid
argument" - I am at
my wit's end...
