<DIV>Update on my quest as to the dissapearing keyboard layout.</DIV>

<DIV>Still do'nt know why it does'nt stick in lts.conf (it worked a couple of weeks ago) but i found a solution in setxkbmap.</DIV>

<DIV>I created FrenchCanadienKeyboard.sh script like this:</DIV>
<DIV>#!/bin/bash</DIV>
<DIV>setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout ca_enhanced -variant basic</DIV>

<DIV>I set it to Read and Execute to others and then i copied it into /etc/skel/.kde/Autostart for the new accounts.</DIV>
<DIV>For the existing accounts, i could push this script onto the desktops.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I got the above setxkbmap from the KDE Control Center where the students are allowed to change their keyboards whitout the need for the root password.</DIV>
<DIV>System-config-keyboard was pretty useless because the settings are seemingly ignored by KDE.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>This method couls be used for any keyboard layout.</DIV>
