In my dhcpd.conf, I changed the range ending from 253 to 199 and now the messages file shows Dec 13 09:16:39 server dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:40:f4:e8:e9:24 via eth0 Dec 13 09:16:40 server dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on <a href="http://192.168.0.199">192.168.0.199</a> to 00:40:f4:e8:e9:24 via eth0 The MAC address is the one for my client.
