from the online html docs for kickstart on red hat 7.2, there is a
discussion of the two directives
filename ...
next-server ...
in the file /etc/dhcpd.conf. the docs state that "... if you don't
specify a server name, then the client system will attempt to use the
server that answered the BOOTP/DHCP request as its NFS server."
fair enough. but the next line says, "If you don't specify a path
or filename, the client system will try to mount /kickstart from the
BOOTP/DHCP server..."
does this mean you can't just have a "next-server" directive without a
"filename" directive? the above *appears* to suggest that, if you don't
have a "filename" directive, you *must* use the DHCP server as the
NFS server for the client. is this true? seems a rather silly
restriction if it is.

p.s. and no, i'm probably not done asking dumb questions about
kickstart.
