Not to worry, I've sorted it out. Seems when I was copying the CD to HDD it
never copied the CD's properly,
used a diff set of CDs (enterprise ver) and everything worked fine.

you shouldn't be hacking away at modules.cgz to solve this. if you
dig into the initrd.img on the boot floppy, you'll see it has a
"modules" directory, which contains not just modules.cgz, but also
a module-info file as well. do you even have that latter file?
