scripting available in %pre section

Hi

i have read in the RH9 documentation that we could provide
a different script interpreter in the %pre section file

I just try

%pre --interpreter /usr/bin/perl 

but i got a message that /usr/bin/perl cannot be run.

then
what script language are available in the %pre section?
