rh 9 glibc update

Has anyone else had any problems doing rpm -Fvh glib* ? After doing this 
I get the following errors and then my system becomes useless. 
(everything segfaults after this)

INIT: id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
error: %post(glibc-2.3.2.27.9) scriptlet failed, exit status 121

reboot
Segmentation fault......
