which package is needed for "libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2"

Hi,

I just installed RH9 for the 1st time, then I installed the new java 1.4.2
rpm.  all went smoothly.
When trying to run a GUI java program got error message.  something like:
missing file "libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2".
I then installed MANY packages from the RH9 3 CDs, till the file was created
and the program agree to run.
My questions are two:
1) Which sole package is needed in order to have this file?
2) in general, how to determine which package is needed for a particular
file or software.
