I had a look at the source for the rpm package that produces this
message (rpm-4.2-0.69), had a lie down in a darkened room and then tried
a different approach.
By trial and error I found that if I ommitted boa (a lightweight web
server) then pkgorder would complete successfully. I tried to rebuild
the .src.rpm for RH 9, but still got the original error.
boa explicitly provides webserver, and so does httpd-2.0.40-21. I was
trying to install both. I think this confuses pkgorder. If I removed the
'Provides:' line in the boa spec file and rebuilt it, then pkgorder
complted without errors.
So for my particular setup the problem is solved. In general I think
this points to a bug (or at least a limitation) in pkgorder.
Should I bugzilla this?
Regards,
Chris
