<p>It is likely that you have to stop and start the VM any for your
system to see the new config. I doubt you can hotplug a serial
interface.<br>

<p>With that in mind you could simpy dumpxml, stop the VM, edit the
XML and restart the VM with the edited XML.</p>
<p>Also as a point of reference, a coworker just mentioned the virsh
ttyconsole command</p>
<p>If the console is there it will tell you which one is configured.<br>

Okay, it *does* say those things -- but that's all it
says. <CR> gets <br>
me nowhere, as opposed to the other KVM hosts we have
running. <br>
