ICS. I rooted my Xperia Neo L phone which is running Android
ICS 4.0.4 and installed Kannada font (Lohit-Kannada.ttf). I
have also included the Lohit-Kannada font as family-set in
fallback_fonts.xml in the framework. After that, I am able to
see the kannada fonts render in browser but the complex script
is not supported. Glyphs are not rendered in proper way,
though it is just readable. Other indic languages like Tamil,
Hindi, Bengali etc renders perfectly but my language is not
rendering properly. Someone suggested me to go thru this blog.</span><a

where is that lohit-fonts directory, where is the android.mk

If you can get 4.1.1 or 4.2.x Android then you can find Kannada is
already supported. See <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.android.com/about/jelly-bean/">http://www.android.com/about/jelly-bean/</a><br>
<br>
The above link you are referring to is related to ICS (4.0.4) source
code. If you have ICS source code then whatever steps given in that
link is still valid. But as that time rendering engine does not
support Kannada language, you will not get conjuncts getting
rendered correctly. Better try latest version or at least 4.1.1 for
correct rendering.<br>
<br>
In 4.0.4 version, fully supported Indic languages are Bengali, Tamil
and Hindi.<br>
