Subject: How to test individual plugins?

I would like to test various versions and combinations of plugins for 
firefox 3.5 on 64 bit Linux. This is on a multiuser box and I don't want 
to disturb the global settings, just my own.

Some plugins will be 64 bit native, other 32 bit through the wrapper.

How can I control exactly which plugins my firefox will use and not get 
duplicates or substitutes from the global setup?
