[publican-list] cannot build with publican > 1.6.1

After upgrading from 1.3 to 1.6.2 I can no longer build any documents 
with publican.

xsltApplyXSLTTemplate: A potential infinite template recursion was detected.
You can adjust xsltMaxDepth (--maxdepth) in order to raise the maximum 
number of nested template calls and variables/params (currently set to 
1000).

Is the error I am receiving.

I have tried with different brands with the same result.

Any recommendations?
