If you want to apply security / bug fix updates etc you will need to register on redhat network. Once you have registered, you can run “up2date –u” from the command line to download the latest bug and security fixes. On the issue of SATA drives, I have never used them myself but a friend of mine tells me that they are supported in Fedora Core 3. If this is a test machine or for home use I would advise installing Fedora Core 3 instead of RHEL.
