RH configured it for generic, --but that didn't help. the HCL for RH 9 only --said GeForce 4 was supported (that was $70 ago). --early this morning, i found a Rage 128 card and --the box is happy. --thanks folks! -X [snip] A catastropic failure like this when you are doing something simple like manipulating files really sounds like you've got hardware problems.
