From aarnold at redhat.com Wed Apr 1 09:59:36 2020 From: aarnold at redhat.com (Arne Arnold) Date: Wed, 1 Apr 2020 11:59:36 +0200 Subject: [Sap-partners] SAP states support for running SAP HANA on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.1 in production SAP environments In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: March 31st, 2020 Being capable of processing transactional and analytical data at the same time, on any data type, SAP HANA marks the technical foundation for many existing, as well as next-generation SAP business applications for the intelligent enterprise. In consequence, SAP and Red Hat are working jointly to deliver timely support of SAP HANA on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and its subsequent minor releases. It's a great pleasure to share that SAP officially announced the support for SAP HANA 2.0 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.1 for SAP Solutions on Intel 64 and IBM Power 9 architectures, as of March 31st, 2020. Not only does RHEL 8.1 for SAP Solutions provide full Enterprise Linux Update Services for SAP Solutions (E4S) for 48 months from the availability of the minor release. RHEL 8.1 for SAP Solutions also introduces Live Kernel Patching and enhances SAP HANA on IBM Power 9 support for shared processor pools and live partition mobility. Note that earlier stated support for RHEL High Availability Solutions for SAP HANA on RHEL 8, on Intel 64 and IBM Power 9 platforms, does also apply to RHEL 8.1, immediately. With RHEL 8.1 now being SAP HANA supported, customers are provided with a comfortable 9-month window to adopt the more current minor release, before Update Services for RHEL 8.0 for SAP Solutions will come to an end on 31 December 2020. Please work with your customer to ensure he?s aware of those dates and can plan accordingly. Many thanks to the on-site SAP Alliance Tech team! We're looking forward to continuing this record of success in also getting timely SAP HANA support for RHEL 7.7 soon.
