I have opted for the Oracle db backend and found it to be a lot more stable. Also from experience, i hard ever had to do anything with the db once it is all up and running. Besides, how many hosts do you want to manage? If you want to use Spacewalk with RHN, you can download packages and then upload it to Spacewalk manually (or search archives as some people write scripts for that). But if you want to use satellite-sync you can do that only with license of RHN Satellite.
