[Vdo-devel] VDO read cache deprecated?

Hi all,
in RHEL 7.6 release notes [1] I read that VDO cache is now deprecated:

"In the next major Red Hat Enterprise Linux release, the read cache 
functionality will be removed, and you will no longer be able to enable 
it using the --readCache option of the vdo utility"

Can you elaborate on that decision? Read cache seemed a good idea for a 
compression/deduplication layer as VDO.
