See http://pdx.freedesktop.org/Standards/menu-spec/menu-spec-0.8.html for the
spec and the defined categories.
glines: Specifies undefined category "PuzzleGame", fixed KDE menu so that it
at least gets added to the Games menu based on the "Game" category.
Uses Categories=GNOME;Application;Game;BoardGame
same for gnome-stone.
gnome-search-tool.desktop: Uses "Core", I guess it uses that for root level
entries, KDE uses X-KDE-MenuRoot. I think the gnome-entries should add
"OnlyShowIn=GNOME".
It uses Categories=GNOME;Application;Core; on GNOME. Same
gnome-stones.desktop: Uses undefined category "Games", they probably mean
"Game".
network-scheme.desktop: Uses "Core", same as gnome-search-tool.desktop
It uses Categories=Application;Core;
This is none GNOME specific it may seem.

I guess KDE can use ("Core" and "KDE") instead of ("X-KDE-MenuRoot") and we
could silently drop ("Core" and not "KDE") to get rid of the gnome root
entries.
Can someone comment on this from the GNOME side of things?
Cheers,
Waldo
