No, it's not windows only.

I have a co-worker who has an nVidia Fake-RAID (a.k.a. FRAID) equipped 
motherboard who has been using the dmraid stuff in FC5 test releases.  There 
have been some problems (see the thread: 
[ http://www.redhat.com/archives/rhl-devel-list/2006-February/msg01007.html ]), 
but it's getting closer.

I didn't have time to look at this, so I have no comment on it.

I can not comment authoritatively, as I do not have one of these FRAIDs.  
However, I do not think this statement is accurate if you are using the 
dmraid support, but it probably is in the described setup.
